"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."(Genesis 1:26)
I figured if I was going to start something, it should at least start with scripture. However, the topic for this is: family, friends, hunting, and whatever else we deem post worthy. It is important to know that none of this is possible without God.
This all started with my hunting buddies who are more like family. We love to hunt and fish, and love it even more when we are successful. But what we've come to realize is that every time we look forward to the next hunting trip, we are really looking forward to spending quality time together and the great outdoors.
One of my hunting buddies' wife came up with the slogan "Save the Acorns Foundation". This is what we call our little hunting club if you will. We even have awesome t-shirts that she also designed. If you haven't figured it out, it means we save the acorns from being eaten by wild game. Go ahead, you can laugh, that's the point.
My vision for this is to be a place where we can post pictures from hunts, share ideas, tell stories, and share our experiences, but it's not just for hunting. This is also for fishing and anything outdoors. This is not a guys only thing either. We encourage our spouses and children to join and take part and they do.
Now that this is set up, it is time to start telling your story. If you don't have any [stories or experiences] yet, get out there and take the family biking, hiking, four wheeling, fishing, or hunting and let us know about it.
I do not consider myself to be a great fisherman, because of all the fish I have ever caught, I can count on my fingers and toes the ones that were caught with a lure. With that said, every 17 years, the great cicada come out is when the best fish bait comes to us. At this time of year, the greatest fish bait is the "horseweed worm".It's proper name is the "cut worm". These can be found along most country road ditches in Arkansas. By using these, you catch many fish, because the worms are very tough skinned, but you also get rid of a destructive little worm that farmers pay a lot to remove in and around their fields. They are free & free is good.
